Pleading Requirements
Supreme Court overturns a "heightened pleading standard" for employment discrimination cases adopted by the Second Circuit. In a unanimous decision, the justices said an employee does not need to plead a prima facie case in a discrimination complaint and may make a "short and plain statement" of the claim. Swierkiewicz v.
